Compared to a landline phone, VoIP is quicker to get up and running. All you need is an Internet connection, software, and a device to help you receive and calls, such as a handset. In contrast, you need to set an appointment with a landline network provider, who will send a technician to connect your company with the existing phone lines in your area. Depending on your location, this can take anywhere from two days to a week to complete.
With a VoIP, you can buy your own equipment and have your IT personnel handle the installation and maintenance. A landline company, on the other hand, would normally require you to buy from their providers. If not, the maintenance is usually handled by technicians from the company itself, as landline connections are rather difficult to diagnose and repair. There is always an additional expense that seems like it is optional but is really not.
